At Austin Hayes we believe that businesses can, and should, have a positive impact on the communities they serve.
Woven into the fabric of our company is the belief that we have a responsibility to act for the benefit of society, beyond our own interests, furthering social good and supporting our community. This is why we have a long and proud history of charitable support, working particularly closely with many children’s charities and making large annual donations to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Austin Hayes are also dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and the protection of our environment, being a member of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and having made significant environmental commitments to minimise our impact wherever possible.
Formula 1 In Schools Sponsorship
Austin Hayes are also proud sponsors of teams at Otley-based Prince Henry’s Grammar School whose students compete in the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge, a national competition which aims to change perceptions of science, technology, engineering and maths by creating a fun and exciting learning environment.
In 2014 we initially supported three teams and continued to support the team who won the regional final, Team Velocita (pictured above); following them as they went on to compete at national level.
In 2015, we have continued our support of Team Velocita by providing funding to help them reach the Regional Finals, where they placed second and won an award for The Best Sponsorship and Marketing. We will be providing further funding as they compete at the National Finals at Silverstone in April, as well as funding the professional printing of their portfolio. Our very own Gareth Armitage is a former student of the school and he is also heavily involved in supporting the cause through providing a range of paint finishes on sample cars.
