With almost 50 years of constant development through investment in both its processes and people, Austin Hayes is proud to offer it's services to the UK defence sector in assisting to offer the UK taxpayer up to £20 million pounds saving per year through the recycling of all types of ammunition packaging.
Purpose built production lines designed to efficiently process over 2,000,000 units per annum, is staffed by a highly trained, motivated and energetic workforce realises the MOD’s aim of reusing wherever possible it’s assets of ammunition packaging.
Whether abrasive shot blasting up to 6,000 units per shift on either our purpose designed four wheel monorail blast machine, or utilising plastic media stripping methods to allow zero substrate loss, Austin Hayes have both the skill base and the facilities to sympathetically remove all old coatings with the minimum of damage to the original substrate providing a clean, keyed surface ready for re-coating.
Paint coatings systems to Def Stan 80-25 can be applied in either any of our powered track wet paint facilities in the case of batches of 10’s to 2,000 units per shift. Or in the case of larger items or single unit batches, our free standing spray facilities can be utilised.
Our coating staff is certified as ICATS Industrial Coating Applicators, and all units of coatings plant designed with the Company’s aim of achieving ISO14001 accreditation in 2011. Electrostatic or air assisted paint spray equipment utilised whenever possible, along with compliant paint systems, allows not only an environmentally compliant facility but a paint plant facility able to offer maximum savings to her customers through the most efficient of paint transfers.
